Jack Frasier

Jack Frasier, 77, lifelong resident of Council, Idaho, died suddenly on June 28, 2024.

Jack was born June 26, 1947 in Council to John and Cleone Frasier of Indian Valley. In 1954 they bought a ranch on Cottonwood Creek and moved to Council where he attended school until he graduated in 1965. He then attended the University of Idaho in Moscow. During this time his folks had an opportunity to buy the ‘Gould Ranch’, but they needed him at home to run the ranch. So, after 3 1/2 years of college he moved back home to be a full time rancher with his Dad and Mom. (He spent his whole life ranching, including, and up to the very day he died.)

In the ‘70s Jack served in the Idaho National Guard.

He met Nyla Hiskey in October of 1972 and they were married on August 3, 1974. They had 2 daughters, Darla and Deanna.

In 2000, Jack and Nyla sold the ranch and bought a place on Airport Road in Council. Jack then went to work cowboying and ranching for Harry Bettis and had continued to work for Harry for some 24 years.

In 2003, Nyla got acquainted with a group of ladies that rode motorcycles. Jack thought that looked like fun, bought himself a motorcycle and started riding. He and Nyla have ridden many miles together in numerous states. He totally enjoyed getting on his Harley and going for a ride, be it a short ride or a long ride. He enjoyed the freedom you have riding and the beautiful scenery everywhere.

Jack is survived by his wife, Nyla and his daughters Darla Stockton of East Tawas, Michigan and Deanna Huson (Matt) of San Diego, California. Also, his Grandchildren Aspen, Wyatt and Peyton John Stockton of East Tawas, Michigan. He also had lots of family and many good friends that will surely miss him.

Jack did not want a funeral so there will be a “Celebration of Life” to honor him September 14, 2024 at the American Legion Hall in Council from 2-6:00 p.m. Bring your favorite “Jack” story as well as your favorite dessert if you’d like and possibly a lawn chair.
