Adams County JR Rodeo

Rodeo season kicked off over the weekend with the 2025 Adams County John Balderson Sr Memorial JR Rodeo. For the first time this was a two day event, over Friday the 18th and Saturday the 19th! This turned out to be a good decision, because it was one of the largest to date, with over 220 entries over the two days! “It was a good thing we put it across two days,” said Rodeo Board Secretary, Heather Paradis.

The All Around Cowboy was Brogan Gebauer and the All Around Cowgirl was Mackenzie Sprague, a local gal from Indian Valley. Participants traveled from all over Idaho, as well as Oregon and Utah. This year the JR Rodeo paid out over $6,000 to the youth who participated!

Next weekend, the main rodeo events will be spread out over three days, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. There are over 380 entries this year, it is definitely growing! There will be concerts following the rodeo on Friday and Saturday night, the Cole Brooks band coming up from Payette on Friday, and Kenny Feidler and the Cowboy Killers on Saturday.

So next weekend come down to the Rodeo at the Adams County Fairgrounds and enjoy the show!
