On January 24th the Adams County Sheriff’s office (ACSO) gathered for our annual end of year dinner and awards. This year was also a goodbye to our deputy/detective of almost 7 years, Sean Moore.

It is with a sad heart we say goodbye to a man that has done so much in our community and for ACSO. It will be challenging to say the least to find a person as well trained, dedicated, and passionate about performing his duties as Sean was. We will miss him deeply and wish him and his family the best in their next chapter in life. I said at the dinner and still stand firmly by my words, whatever agency Sean goes to work for will become a better agency the day he starts the job.

We also awarded a deputy from each division employee of the year. I chose this year’s deputies based on their attitude towards the job and how they conducted themselves daily. I believe a job is more pleasant and enjoyable when we are around people with positive attitudes and upbeat personalities as well as an excitement to do the job to the best of their ability. With those standards in mind the following are Adams County Deputies of the year: Detention, Deputy M. Bailey, Dispatch Corporol K. Petersen, Patrol Deputy M. Smith, and the Sheriffs award to Reserve Deputy R. Anderson. We as an agency and a community are blessed to have such great hard-working men and women that work every day and night so we can enjoy the quality-of-life Adams County has to offer. They all give up so much to make our community a safe place to live and raise our families. I am extremely grateful to have the opportunity to work with everyone of these men and women and have them as my brothers and sisters in this profession.

We at ACSO would like to thank the great people of Adams County for the support you have shown this agency and the men and women in it. We all take great pride in our profession and are always working our best to serve each of you. ACSO would like to give a special thank you to M&W market for donating the amazing brisket that was prepared for the dinner (rest assured no meat was left over) as well as the cake. Thank you to the staff that worked so hard to put this together, with the fun videos, decorating and preparing the meal.

We at ACSO look forward to another year of serving our community and working together to make Adams County great.
