Midvale City business was completed in twenty five minutes at Monday’s regular council meeting April 14.

Four action items were all approved. A contract was signed to begin the paving project at the airport, which will be done in May. The airport manager is now Jake Mikek. The club plane is currently parked at the Weiser Airport until the finished paving project will allow the Midvale Airport to reopen. The council voted to adopt the Washington County Dog Ordinance for the city which will make it easier to enforce. And finally, due to the Swim Pool’s early application, the annual 4th of July celebration will once again be held in the park.

Also in park items, there will be some changes in the electrical service provided in the park. It was suggested that park maintenance person Shawn McClary be asked if she wants to get the mowers serviced herself. The city is also ordering four signs for the park encouraging visitors to pick up after their dogs.

Mayor Brian Graham offered to help Shawn flush all the city water hydrants, which will have to be done at night since each one must be opened all the way and let run for thirty seconds. Since Shawn is multi-talented, Clerk Mariah Johnson reported that her work in the bathroom at City Hall has resulted in new paint, flooring and a new toilet.

The spring weed spray day will be May 2 from 8-noon. Harmon Horton has volunteered to spray the weeds at the airport. Mariah will be attending the budget training workshop in Boise on May 21.

The next regular meeting will be May 12 at 7:00 p.m..
