As summer heats up, there are still plenty of cool events to check out in New Meadows.

The New Meadows Farmer’s Market continues on Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the City Park. Vendors have a wealth of freshly grown or made items available.

The Grand Opening event for the new City Hall and Museum at the P. & I.N. Train Depot is scheduled for Thursday, July 31 from 4-7:00 p.m..

The Fosdick Dinner and Golf Tournament takes place Saturday, August 2 and Sunday, August 3. Dinner starts Saturday at 5:00 p.m. at The Intersection BBQ, Bar & Grill and the golf tournament kicks off with registration and breakfast Sunday morning at 8:00 a.m. at MeadowCreek.

On Tuesday, August 5 from 6-7:30 p.m. New Meadows will host their first annual celebration of National Night Out. Gather in the City Park from 6-7:30 p.m. to celebrate. Join the fun for free food, games, and giveaways. Visit booths hosted by the Sheriff’s department, community organizations, and our very own Meadows Valley Fire & EMS, who will be offering opportunities to climb into their fire trucks and ambulance.

The Meadows Valley Youth Advocacy Coalition continues to host summer programs at the City Park on Thursdays from 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 noon Activities have included water fun and games.

The Summer Sack Lunch program continues for children. Kids can come to the library between 12:00 noon and 1:00 p.m., Monday through Friday on open days to pick up a lunch.

Library Book Club is hosted the first Wednesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. at Meadows Valley Library. The summer reading program finishes up this week with awards and top readers being announced.

Potluck & BINGO at the Meadows Valley Community Center is at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 13. This is a recurring event scheduled for the 2nd Wednesday of each month.

School starts back up on Monday, August 25. If you or your family could use assistance with school supplies, Meadows Valley Planet Youth/YAC is happy to help. Visit qrto.org/rlRyc9 to fill out the sign up form. This includes PE shoes.

The 60th annual Meadows Valley Days is Labor Day Weekend, August 30 and Sunday, August 31. Events include axe throwing, log burling, logging competitions, book sale, vendor booths, yard sale, parade and car show on Sunday, and much more.

New Meadows’ annual bike-a-thon is scheduled for Saturday, September 13. Keep an eye out for more information and to sign up.

The Mehen Memorial Skatepark in New Meadows is making progress and plans to host Round 2 of the Adams County/Valley County Skatedown on September 27 at 12:00 noon.
