Rachel Reynaga with her husband and 4 kids.

We arrived in New Meadows in 2018 after navigating the Hwy-95 canyon in the middle of a January blizzard with the kids bundled in the back and all our possessions in boxes. My name is Rachel Reynaga and I’m your New Meadows correspondent.

It is a pleasure for my husband, four kids, and I to be part of the New Meadows community. I’m amazed at the beauty that surrounds us and am grateful for the advantages of small town life. I was raised in San Jose, CA. My husband Jeremy and I met during senior year of high school and went to prom together. I graduated from Biola University with a bachelor’s degree in Public Administration (Political Science) and a minor in Biblical Studies. I spent one semester working with a non-profit in Southeast Washington, D.C. After graduation, I worked for Four Seasons Hotel East Palo Alto for six years, working up to Conference Services Manager, planning events for business, entertainment, and social groups. I left after having our first child and am thankful I could stay home to raise my children then and now.

Not that we always stay home! I love discovering what’s going on in the community and sharing so others can participate too. I enjoy weightlifting, reading, cooking & baking, hiking, swimming, skiing, hunting & foraging. If I can live my life like Psalm 37:3, “Trust in the Lord and do good…,” I’ll be satisfied.

Our kids have enjoyed baseball, basketball, track & field, and the drama program through New Meadows school. Having the whole family on skis this past winter was so fun! We like participating in the farmers market and the awesome library programs. We enjoy being in the Adams County 4-H program and look forward to restarting the New Meadows chapter.

Thank you Kayrene Brown for asking if I liked writing and connecting me with Janey & Nate. I love learning about local history and hearing people’s stories. I look forward to learning and reporting about all things New Meadows!

The Reynaga Family.
