On Monday, August 12, 2024, at 7:00 p.m. the Cambridge Town Council held their monthly meeting. All members were in attendance.

The meeting started with the public hearing of the 2024-2025 proposed budget, no one had any negative or opposing comments. Their regularly planned meeting commenced after this where they approved their current agenda, minutes from July 8th & 26th, and payments and bills.

Second was a HECO engineering report on several items such as transportation, streets, roads, water, and wastewater systems.

The following item was Hardin Sanitation, Inc.’s Exclusive Franchise Agreement for renewing their contract with the city. Council members reviewed the contract and decided to take it under advisement currently before approving anything.

The next item was the approval for the 2024-2025 budget & certifications of the Property Tax Levy which all council members approved. Council members also approved Ordinance #1-2025 - Annual Appropriations Ordinance.

The subsequent item needed approval for Website update by CivicPlus for Ultimate Implementation. This will help the city website be ADA-compliant. All members approved this item.

The last item was a report on Rogue Credit Union meetings with City Clerk Sandra McKee. After a few meetings that seemed hopeful it turned out that there is not enough of a market here in our small town for them. Rogue Credit Union proposed the potential of an express teller machine. However, it would fully be at the expense of the city which would be astronomical.
