Cambridge FFA Competes in Career Development Events

September and October have been busy months for members of the FFA chapter competing in district and state Career Development Events. Five members competed in the State Range Career Development: Hunter Hastie, Ty Gladhart, Frankie Crocco, Easton Hastie, and Kellan Moura traveled to Bruneau to compete in the event. This event includes plant identification, site analysis (soil types, precipitation, water flow, and slope), biomass, stocking rate calculation, and work through a current rangeland issue. The team placed 6th in the state, with Hunter and Kellan tying for 7th-high individuals.
Also in September, the Cambridge FFA Chapter hosted the Regional Soils event with teams from Weiser, Homedale, Meridian, Rimrock, Kuna. The Cambridge team placed 1st. With Emma Ford top high individual, Bridger Miller second, Haven Harley third. After they traveled to Burley, Idaho, to compete at state soils. They got 2nd as a team, with Haven Harley as 4th high individual and Bridger Miller 7th. They will attend the national soils contest in April at Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Team members for soils were Haven Harley, Bridger Miller, Madalyn Reynolds, Emma Ford and MacKee Nichols.
The Cambridge FFA Dairy judging team competed in the Western Idaho District dairy cattle evaluation event in Fruitland on October 10th. The team placed 2nd with Jack Papineau at 2nd top high individual and Ridge Loveland at 7th. Team members were Jack Papineau, Eric Loveland, Ridge Loveland, JD Dunham, Morgan Luras (official team); alternates Will Reynolds, Audrey Steele, Mary Lancaster and Macki Winkles.
