Council Chamber Elects New Board Members
On Friday, January 16, the Council Chamber of Commerce held their annual Chamber meeting where they were taking nominations for new board members and cabinet members. The newly elected chamber board consists of Eric Smith, Channel Sanderson, Katie Church, Brian Goodwin, Lauren Harris, Lorraine Bennett, Victoria St John, David Church, and Nikki Sheppard. Katie Church was re-elected as President of the Chamber of Commerce, with Lauren Harris as Vice President, Shani Smith as Treasurer, and Ryan Baldwin as Secretary.
The Council Chamber of Commerce is currently gearing up for their Chamber Banquet, which will take place on Saturday, February 21st at 6:00 P.M at the Rec Center. The event will have music, a silent auction, and BBQ catering by S&A Catering. The Chamber of Commerce will be presenting awards for man and woman of the year, as well as business, first responder, and educator, There are ballots still available at multiple businesses around town and all residents are encouraged to cast their ballots prior to the Chamber Banquet! Tickets for the Banquet are available at Tosha’s Tinctures and Herbs and are $20 for Adults and $15 for Seniors. Children 10 and under are free. The Chamber is also still accepting donations for the silent auction. All proceeds from the event help to support the 4th of July Celebrations in Council.
