Council Jiu Jitsu Academy Places 4th in Championship

On Saturday, May 10, 16 students from the Council Jiu jitsu Academy competed in the American Grappling Federation’s (AGF) 2025 Boise Jiu Jitsu Championships at Expo Idaho in Boise. Out of 24 different Jiu Jitsu academies that were competing that day, Council Jujitsu Academy was the fourth Best Academy! 20 different academies had children competing in Kids Gi. Out of those 20 academies Council took home the Silver plaque for over all Kids Gi! “I’m very proud,” said coach and founder of the academy Anna Cook.
Three kids from Council brought home gold in their division: Harper Paradis, who also had one of the fastest wins, despite going up against an older girl, Miah Gross, who also competed against an older boy, and Jesse Lyttle, a gray white belt, who went up against a yellow belt! In fact, most of the kids from Council were placed against someone with either a higher weight class or a higher ranking. Despite that, the team took home silver in Kids Gi, but was only five points away from the gold ranking team!
Anna Cook said there is a saying in Jujitsu, “you can’t teach heart,” and on Saturday “all our kids exhibited that.” The students are excited and eager to continue training and compete again. “It’s such a good thing to boost the kids confidence” said Coach Anna, “they go out there to the mats and just give it all they got!”
