Council Computers presented on the Technology Plan. They have identified about 40 computers that will reach end-of-life and will no longer be supported by Microsoft by October 2025. They proposed purchasing several each month until then to avoid a large budget hit down the road. They explained that these replacements are important for the security and privacy of students and student data. Mindy Ivey stated that they have $13,000 in the budget this year to get started on this project. They will use next year’s budget to finish the replacements. This was approved by the board.
Bus routes will be the same as last year but the district does need bus drivers.
There was intended to be an executive session to discuss the district’s guidance counselor position but 4 board members are required to be present for that. That discussion was tabled until a future meeting.
The district approved the signed contract for the teachers for the year. Also, alternative authorizations and an emergency declaration for certain staff were approved.
Lastly, it was approved to hire Tyler Powers as the History Teacher.
