Council Schools Beneficiary of Anonymous Donor

An anonymous donor will be donating $65,000 to the Council School District according to Superintendent Brian Joyce. Joyce reported this to the school board at their regular meeting on July 8.

According to Joyce’s report to the board this donor will provide $20,000 for a part-time instructor for the Pre-K program, $40,000 towards the purchase of replacement Chromebooks and $5,000 for the PTO art program.

There had been no plan to have a Pre-K program next school year due to the district’s levy failure in May. The teacher for this class was an aide and was paid from levy funds. This donation would change that. The Chromebooks are an expense that the district has discussed extensively in recent months and the PTO art program started last school year.
