Family & Consumer Science students from Council High School have made a meaningful impact by donating 11 handmade quilts to families in California affected by recent wildfires. These quilts were created by Family and Consumer Science (FCS) students, who are also members of the FCCLA (Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America), as part of their textiles class. The project combined practical sewing skills with compassion, teaching students about community service and crisis response. Each quilt symbolizes warmth and care, offering comfort to displaced families while showcasing the power of youth-driven initiatives in addressing real-world challenges.
