Council School District held their second annual district-wide Talent Show on Thursday, April 23. The Talent show was a fundraiser for the school music and arts department. The evening featured a dozen different acts ranging from piano and vocalists, to Zumba and dances with live animals. The Junior High School Choir sang a beautiful piece called “Pie’ Jesu,” and even some of the Council teachers and staff joined in the fun and dressed up as minions for a quirky dance.

Students Tyree Veselka, Cheyenne McDonald, and Dominik Burggraf acted as the Master of Ceremonies for the show and did a wonderful job. The acts were judged by a panel of four consisting of Alex Kennedy, Ryan Baldwin, Julie Pate, and Cheyenne Warner-Bennion. First Place went to Reyah Zuhlke and Karina Davis for their Zumba dance to “Jumpin.” Second place was the return performance of The Amazing La Chat’s (Evelynn Collings and Emerald Hart) with their dance to “the Cat’s Meow” accompanied by their feline companion Journey. Third Place was Adriel Collings with the piano piece “Just Struttin’ Along.” The Council PTO sponsored the event and purchased trophies for each of the winners and Rorrie Burgess put in countless hours organizing the event.
