On Tuesday, May 28th, the Adams County Commissioners met for their final meeting of the month. Building Inspector, Kody Williams, discussed with the commissioners some solutions for structures built without permits. Meredith Fisher, with Planning and Zoning, spoke about setbacks in subdivisions. Steve Shelton, with Solid Waste, said that Fred Perez came to the landfill last Friday to discuss the expansion project. They stockpiled dirt that needed to be removed and worked on the liner. The new well will be drilled in July. Adam Balderson, with Road and Bridge, said that the Missman Rd project will begin on June 3rd and dust abatement will start June 18th. A resident came into the commissioners meeting to speak about an issue with a culvert going under Missman Rd and to discuss solutions.

After speaking with the resident, the commissioners went into executive session to consult with County Prosecutor Chris Boyd. They came out of executive session with no action taken, and then decided that the county would cover the costs to fix the standpipe as soon as possible, since it was affecting other people. The resident said he was good with this solution. Sheriff Ryan Zollman said there were 22 inmates currently at the jail. He also discussed with the commissioners possible changes to the county step/grade scale, however no changes were made at that time. After this County Coroner Sue Warner presented the 2025 budget. Next was the final plat hearing for Legacy Ranch, which was approved and signed after confirming all the conditions were met. Last, the commissioners canvassed the votes for the May 21, 2024 election.
