Farmers Market Season Ending
The crisp chill in the morning air and the leaves starting to change color are all signaling the end of summer. With the end of summer comes the end of the outdoor market season. On Saturday, September 20, the New Meadow Community Farmers Market closed out their season with their 4th annual Fall Festival. The Midvale Farmers Market is going a little longer, and hasn’t quite decided what their last day will be, but hopes to be continuing on Wednesdays through the end of October. This Friday, the Council Mountain Farmers Market will hold their 7th annual end-of-season pumpkin patch celebration, with a huge market downtown from 10:00-4:00.
The final Council farmers market of the year will host significantly more vendors, as well as community organizations like the Council Chamber of Commerce, who will be holding a Chili Cookoff, The Record Reporter, Council High School, and the Adam’s County Health Action Team (ACHAT) There will also be guest vendors from the McCall Market. Many booths will be decorated and children are encouraged to dress up and trick or treat participating vendors, and there will be face painting, pumpkin painting from 11-3, and other games as well! “It’s going to be big and a lot of fun,” said Market Manager Amanda Gratton.
So come on down to Council City Park Friday, from 10-4, and join in the fun. Thank you to all of the organizers who have helped this season to put on these wonderful community farmers markets and the local producers who enrich and supply these communities!
