The month of May means spring, gardening, Mother’s Day, and flowers! At least that’s what seems to have been on the minds of residents this last week in Council. On Thursday, May 8th, a new nursery called Exeter Lane Gardens celebrated their Grand Opening. Located at 1924 S Exeter in Council, the new garden stop is planning to be open Thursday to Sunday through the gardening season, and will be supplying the area with flowers, herbs, and veggie starts as well as compost and potting soil. The grand opening was well attended and they sold out of many items!

Also this week was the well loved annual FFA Plant Sale at the high school. Organized by Council High educator Trista Robbins, the sale consisted primarily of plants grown and propagated by the students in various classes and is always a highly anticipated event by the community!

On Saturday, the Green Tractor Farm Stand held their annual Plant Exchange which is a fun little event where people bring extra plants, seeds, and gardening supplies and trade for different ones! Saturday also saw a special Mother’s Day themed Story time at the library, where the children went home with beautiful little flower bouquets to share with the moms in their lives. The Council community was full of events to celebrate the springtime season this last week!
