Life Flight Helicopter Stuck in Fruitvale for Several Days

A Life Flight Helicopter was grounded in the Fruitvale area according to Life Flight Public Relations Manager Natalie Hannah.
The helicopter was requested to transport a patient with an accidental gunshot wound. However, according to Sheriff Ryan Zollman as reported to the Adams County Commissioners, the helicopter’s tail rotor struck a stump when the pilot was attempting to land.
Hannah did not give the nature of the incident, just that the crew landed and that they then discovered the mechanical issue that needed onsite attention. There were no injuries and the patient was transferred to another aircraft for transport to a hospital.
The helicopter was repaired on site and has since returned to duty.
Thanks to Curtis Crothers for the tip about the helicopter.
