Local Election Results
Adams County residents will see many new staff in county offices in January 2027.
Last week’s primary election saw Tara Horton elected as Clerk, Kala Nichols as Assessor and Wendy Mott as Coroner. Nikki Zielinski will be the new Treasurer but she did not have a primary challenger. Daren Ward retained his seat as Commissioner for District 2. Joe Iveson did not have a primary challenger this year and will continue as Commissioner for District 1. The Sheriff and Prosecuting Attorney were not up for election this year and will remain the same.
In Washington County Prosecuting Attorney True Pearce survived the recall effort against him. Jim Harberd was re-elected to his seat as County Commissioner for District 1. He was running unopposed. County Commissioner District 2 was won by Chris Christopherson with 51.39% of the vote. Niki Houser was voted in as the Assessor with over 56% of the vote.
This is all pending the results of the general election in the fall but these results are all but guaranteed.
The Weiser Ambulance District Permanent Levy Override failed with less than 57% support. It needed a two-thirds majority to pass.
