The Meadows Valley Mountaineers competed at the Mile High Meet in McCall on Tuesday, April 29. Other teams competing included Cascade, Garden Valley, Grangeville, Horseshoe Bend, Idaho City, McCall-Donnelly, and Salmon River.

Sophomore Natalie Ruth was a standout with her second place best score of 7’6” in pole vault.

Four athletes earned new personal records at this meet. Juniors Hoyt Rhodes and Xaiya Solis ran PRs in the 100 meter with times of 13.09 seconds and 16.69 seconds respectively. Sophomore Wyatt Frandin earned a PR in the long jump of 18’0.5” and junior Olivia McFadden threw a PR of 63’7” in the 1kg discus.

On Friday, May 2 the Mountaineers lined up with twenty other teams at the Lynn Behrman Invitational in Parma. Ruth ran a season record of 1:09.26 in the 400 meter. Sophomore Melody Juica threw a PR in the 4kg shotput of 18’ and junior Jackie Steiner threw a PR of 71’4” in the 1kg discus.

District 3 2A-3A Championships take place this Thursday, May 8 and Friday, May 9 at the New Plymouth track.
