Meadows Valley Jr. High Basketball

The Meadows Valley Mountaineers faced off at home against the Tri-Valley Titans Thursday, February 6 in two exciting, closely matched games.
The girls team began with an intense battle showcasing strong defense and some good shooting, including two 3-point scores from 8th grader Leah Anderson. The girls displayed strong work in aggressive offense and passing as well as familiar teamwork. Toward the end of the 4th quarter the game was tied at 12:12. The last few minutes of the game included back and forth scoring. The Titans took the win with a final score of 16:14.
The boys team took the court next easing into action with a 12:8 lead for the Mountaineers in the first quarter. In the second quarter after some hard fought back and forth, the Titans began to close in and gained the lead after the half. 8th graders Elyjah Ekhart and Buck Howard lit up the crowd with some great shooting. 5th grader Diego Mendez Vargas worked hard to get open many times and had a successful score in the 4th. The boys game ended with a Titan win and final score of 35:31.
