When the honeybees go on strike, a hungry bear learns a lesson in gratitude and so did about 20 children at the last Meadows Valley library story time. The event began with Library Director Audrey Crogh reading Please Please The Bees by Gerald Kelley and Discover The Busy World of The Beehive by Petra Bartiková. Kids then moved to the craft room to make a bee craft with a woven paper element and were treated to honey sticks and a bee shaped chocolate.
Monthly storytime will take a break until September, but the Summer Reading Program will be starting soon. This year’s theme is “Unearth a Story” and will focus on themes like dinosaurs, archeology and paleontology.
