About 25 kids caught their own reindeers at the Meadows Valley library during storytime on Wednesday, December 10. Children listened to volunteer Marlene Clark, dressed as an elf, as she read The Night the Reindeer Came to Play by Maria Votto and Dasher: How a Brave Little Doe Changed Christmas Forever by Matt Tavares.

Library Director Audrey Crogh led the children in making a reindeer inside of a clear container to look like a snow globe. The children also received name tags with their made up reindeer names like “Comet Frosty-Nose”. The next story time is scheduled for Wednesday, January 14 from 4-4:45 p.m. with an Under the Sea theme.

The next book club meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, January 7 at 7:00 p.m. and is open to new members. The group will be discussing A Christmas Memory by Richard Paul Evans.

A new S.T.E.M. maker club has begun at the library taking place on the first Wednesday of each month at 4:00 p.m. Kids ages 10 - 15 can sign up ahead of time and attend for $5 per session. All supplies are provided. January’s activity will be a jumping robot.

The library is open Monday through Friday, 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. The library will close at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 24 and Wednesday, December 31. The library will be closed Thursday, December 25, Friday, December 26, Thursday, January 1, and Friday January 2.
