After possibly decades without it, a Meadows Valley School legend returned on Thursday, April 30 with the Spring Carnival. Students, parents, families and friends all gathered to enjoy community and a heap of carnival themed fun. Booths sponsored by the school’s PTO, local organizations, school classes, teachers and generous others filled the school’s gymnasium.

The event included a cake walk put on by the MV Hope Squad, face painting, balloon animals, a bounce house run by the 6th grade class, cookie painting organized by the New Meadows library, a photo booth, cotton candy, two fishing booths and pie throwing. Carnival themed food was available for purchase.

Southwest District Health and Ignite Idaho hosted booths with fun prizes and learning opportunities. The City of New Meadows ran a Pop the Balloon booth and offered stickers with the City’s new logo. Other prizes were furnished by the PTO and books were available at the ring toss booth run by the preschool. The Meadows Valley Community Center hosted a lollipop toss. Crowd favorites were definitely the blow up sumo wrestling competition and anytime jovial School Food Service Manager Carolyn Swanson was seated to get pied in the face.

During planning stages that began last year, the PTO heard stories of past booths including a dunk tank and a kissing booth. Much of the funding was covered by a Golf Poker Run fundraiser the PTO put on in October. The group of parents organized, brainstormed, and executed a fun, free event for all.
