The 3rd grade Puppet Show at MVS.

Meadows Valley School had a Celebration of Learning on January 24th at 4:30. The whole school had very interesting projects to show. The Senior Class presented their senior projects at this time also, but I will report on those later.

Kindergartners had paper displays of animals that they drew and wrote some facts about. Most grades displayed the projects they were most proud of last semester. Third grade put on an adorable puppet show about reptiles and amphibians.

I think one of the 5th graders’ layouts was my favorite. It was titled “Who Was Irma Keska?” Irma was a teacher at MVS for 25 years. The display talked about her life, what she was like, that she was a distinguished citizen and even had quotes from people that knew her. She passed away 33 years ago on Christmas Eve and is still remembered and talked about so fondly.

Another one of my favorites was also a 5th grader’s. A couple students had built an impressive roller coaster called “The Speed Goblin”. It was built out of various materials such as cardboard, meter sticks, cups and legos. It was for marbles, not people, and was so big that a good picture couldn’t be taken of it.

Families got to look at everything and then kids could fill out a paper saying what they learned from all the projects. After turning in their paper, they took a turn throwing bean bags at Cornhole boards to win prizes! What a fun and educational occasion!
