Meadows Valley School Performs Peter Pan

Wow! Just wow! Peter Pan at Meadows Valley School was fabulous! Great job Director Sara Walker and all the students! So many people showed up to watch the show that they had to ask the audience to scoot together so there were no empty chairs and then brought out more! The play even turned out to be a musical with the students performing three songs.
As everyone probably knows the story starts out in the Darling home in London. One of my favorite parts in this play was when Tinkerbell, Peter, Wendy, John and Michael flew to Neverland. It was so clever how they made it look like they were flying over the rooftops, over the clouds, in front of the moon, and even into outer space before coming back down to the Lost Boys’ lair. Wendy, played by Melody Juica, then becomes the boys’ “mother” and wants Peter, played by Mary Reynaga, to be their father. Another of my favorite parts comes then when Peter and the Lost Boys sing “I Won’t Grow Up”. They performed the song excellently! Of course, Captain Hook, played by Madi Basye, and the pirates capture Wendy and the boys. This leads up to my other favorite part. Peter comes and rescues them and a great sword fight ensues. It was great fun to watch, while pirate music played in the background! And then comes Captain Hook walking the plank and being chased off by the ticking crocodile. At the end, Wendy, John, Michael and the boys return to the welcoming Darling home.
Peter Pan by J.M. Barrie was adapted by: John Cairn & Trevor Nunn. There were many thanks given to the people that helped provide props, food, theater expertise, music, inspiration, tech support, finances, backstage supervision, and support. Thanks were also given to the cast and crew for hard work, energy and humor and to their families.
