Midvale Country Store – A Community Hub on the Move

Thanks to new owner Lucy Jump, the Midvale location — formerly home to the Midvale Store and, before that, Midvale Mercantile — has been reinvented as Midvale Country Store. Jump acquired the business in August and has been busy placing her own creative stamp on the establishment. Featuring an eclectic mix of grocery staples, hot food, beer and wine, freshly brewed coffee, and gift items supplied by local vendors, the store has something for everyone, locals and tourists alike.
“The store has exploded into something I didn’t think would happen for a couple of years,” said Jump. “It’s amazing!”
A creative twist at Midvale Country Store is a thrift store, located in the back of the market. This new addition carries vintage treasures, antiques, and gently used furniture. According to Jump, this thrift corner has proved to be very popular, and there already is a waiting list for vendors who sell their items on consignment.
The gift section is also a hit with customers and carries a selection of items either made or sourced by local artisans including essential oils, jewelry, tee shirts, and hats. Jump is so pleased with the community’s reception of these locally produced items that she plans to have a sidewalk sale in the future where local vendors can showcase more of their wares.
Midvale Country Store also offers essential groceries, local meats, farm fresh eggs, local honey, and produce. Jump can special order items for customers. It’s a designated state-operated liquor store, and Jump plans to begin selling Idaho Lottery tickets in the future.
Hot meals and made-fresh entrees are available daily at the Midvale Country Store. Some menu items include chicken alfredo, pizza-by-the-slice, burritos, deserts, and hot biscuits and gravy. If you are an early riser, freshly brewed coffee is half price from 6:00 a.m. to 7:00 a.m. If you bring your own cup, you can enjoy a cup of morning joe for only 50 cents. If you miss the morning coffee rush, you can still get coffee refills all day long for one dollar.
Jump is grateful for the local support and hopes to see Midvale Country Store become a hub for the community, where neighbors can purchase gifts, grab great food, and mingle over a cup of fresh coffee.
“I just want to provide a great place for locals to come,” said Jump.
Midvale Country Store’s hours of operation are: Monday - Saturday, 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.; Monday - Sunday, 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m..
