It will be a noisy July 4th celebration in Midvale. Besides the annual BBQ, the Swim Pool board is running a gun raffle with the winner receiving a Tikka T3x .223 Rifle with Vortex Venom Scope donated by Andy Butler with Force360. There will also be a chance to win a Custom 6.5 Grendel AR, Burris Scope, Leopold Binoculars and a Knife from Montana Knife Company.

The patriotic parade, celebrating American’s 250th birthday, will line up at the high school and will wind through town at 11:00 a.m. This is a bit earlier than in previous years.

BBQ will be served at 11:30 in the park. Salads and desserts are welcome from the community. Last names A-M please bring salad and N-Z bring dessert. It’s always a good idea to bring lawn chairs so you can sit in the shade afterwards and visit with neighbors you haven’t seen in ages. The pool board posted, “We want to give a big thank you to Roe’s Custom Meats for their outstanding pork donation to this year’s 4th of July BBQ! You can expect mouth-watering pulled pork sandwiches that will make this year’s event unforgettable.”

Afternoon events include the Duck Raffle at 1:00 p.m. in the pool, Gun Raffle at 2:00 p.m. in the park, Chicken Scramble at 3:00 p.m. in Veterans Park, and free swimming 1-7:00 p.m..

Bring your wallet to support the pool with the following prizes: BBQ $10 and kids $5; gun raffle tickets $10 each, 6 for $50, 12 for $100 or 25 for $200; and duck raffle tickets $5 each. There are only 500 ducks. They can be purchased at the Midvale Market, Blake’s Sinclair and Loveland’s General Store.

Duck raffle prizes include: $200 gift card from Scheels, $250 full vehicle service from Larry H. Miller in Boise, $50 gift card from Blake’s store in Cambridge, cowhide rug from People’s Furniture, $50 from D& B, candy basket from Weiser Classic Candy, Scentsy gift basket from Kristen Nolte, honey gift basket from Kind2All Honey, gift basket from Accents by Annie, gift card from Branded Wick Custom Candies.

You can buy gun raffle tickets now by contacting the pool board at midvaleswimmingpool@gmail.com. Winner must be 18+ and able to pass FFL background check.

All proceeds will go towards supporting the non-profit Midvale Swimming Pool. Any donations can be mailed to Midvale Swimming Pool, PO Box 4, Midvale ID 83645.
