New Meadows Fall Festival

Live music and the scent of tacos wafted from the New Meadows City Park on Saturday, October 5. Mountain Roots Orchard set up their hand powered apple press for people to try making apple cider. About 14 tents were set in a circle offering baked goods, local produce, handcrafted items, books, and plenty of fun for the kids. Many booths offered activities for kids to earn tickets and a store was set up with small toys, trinkets, and useful items to be traded with the tickets. Corn hole, horseshoes, a duck pond, free face painting, and crafts all offered even more fun.
Next to the ticket prize booth, New Meadows Farmers Market Manager Julia Olson set up a display of delicious baked goods and foods to be raffled off. This is a great fundraiser for the market. A favorite at the market this year, the bicycle smoothie maker was available too. Crowds perused booths and bought up all kinds of goodies through the morning and afternoon. New Meadows Parks & Rec held a raffle fundraiser for two bikes and the winners were thrilled.
If you missed out on cider at the Fall Festival, Mountain Roots will be hosting their Cider Pressing Event on October 19.
