New Meadows Library Honors Volunteers

The Meadows Valley Library welcomed the community for a Volunteer Appreciation Open House this on April 15th. Visitors had an opportunity to thank volunteers in person or by signing a thank you card.
Throughout the afternoon about 40 children enjoyed finding stickers hidden around the library, guessing how many chocolate kisses were in a jar, and selecting coloring sheets and temporary tattoos. A raffle featuring book journals and reading lights was also offered for three age groups.
Complimentary sweet treats and drinks were available to all visitors and many delicious options were on display for purchase through the library’s Spring Bake Sale.
A flyer was available with information about the history of the library in Meadows Valley. Library Services began in Meadows Valley in the late 1940’s. In 1961, with the sponsorship of the Women’s Club of Meadows and the help of volunteers, a library was formed in the Scout Hall. The library was later moved to the P&IN Train Depot. In August of 1999 the Meadows Valley Public Library opened in its current location.
Thank you to all the wonderful volunteers who help make the library a fun and beneficial place for our community.
The Spring Bake Sale continues through April 30th.
