Newly Decorated Community Garden Hosts Plant Exchange

It was a calm, cloudy Saturday morning when the annual plant exchange was held at the Midvale Community Garden, behind the firehouse. Due to another event in the Upper Country, attendance was very low but those who came were treated to some very colorful art and a variety of plants.
Midvale High School science and art teacher Krista Bailey has involved both of those classes in the garden. The shed on the property now sports a very bright, modern design. The pollinator garden has it’s own sign and more will be coming. The science class started seeds in the new green house on the property, built by Mike Rebman.
Including the students’ seedlings, there were tomatoes, watermelon, squash, beets, basil, lemon balm, strawberries, onions, one pea, mint and some flowers to take home.
