A young girl enjoys a pie the proper way.

On Saturday, August 24th, Council Community Church hosted a “Pie Showdown” fundraiser to raise money for their Mission Trip to Caring Hearts And Hands of Hope in Kenya, next January.

They kicked off the fun with a good old-fashioned pie eating contest! The Junior Bracket featured Tessa Lyttle, age 9, Jesse Lyttle, age 13, Issac Miller, age 15, Noah Lantz, age 11 and RJ Lantz, age 12. They attacked their fruit pies with competitive fury!!! Their enthusiasm and sportsmanship really won the hearts of the crowd. Winner Issac Miller finished first, claiming the first place prize and the calcutta.

The adult bracket included Pastor Les Sheneberger, Sheriff Zollman, Commissioner Ward and Councilman Tubridy. It was great fun indeed!

The event culminated with the “In Your Face” whipped cream pie toss!! Church Clerk Kathy Sandberg, Sheriff Zollman, Commissioner Ward and Councilman Tubridy graciously took pies to the face for a great cause!

Council Community Church would like to thank Cambridge Lumber, Sprockets Taphouse and Restaurant, Council Mountain Coffee, Double M Brewery, Command Sourcing Inc. and this community for their support!

Pastor Les Sheneberger has had enough.
Sheriff Ryan Zollman braces for impact as a pie is thrown at him.
