Back on February 6th the American Red Cross held a blood drive in Council.

I spoke with Christy Behm out of New Meadows who was donating that day. She told me she has donated three gallons over the course of her ‘career’. She also showed me a Red Cross app on her phone that showed her where her blood had traveled to help save lives. Her’s had gone to Utah, Nevada and California.

I was told that each unit of blood donated, typically about one pint, can help save the lives of up to three people. Three gallons of donated blood can touch a lot of lives.

Mark Edwards of Council coordinates these blood drives. He had a total of 54 donors show and 47 units collected which was over their goal.
