Elizabeth with the newest addition to her family.

In life, there are many different seasons. Some are long, some are short. Some have big impacts, some have small ones.

Last year it was relatively easy to live in the square yurt and later the root cellar, cook out of doors, bake in a cob oven, and do laundry by hand.

This year, my tolerance for ‘hard’ definitely tanked, so we were very blessed to be able to acquire a 5th wheel to live in, and a friendly laundromat to take the wash to.

You may have noticed a shift in the homesteading/off gridding activities we’ve done this year, I know I certainly did. While these activities are still very important to us, they had to take a back seat this year to allow us to build financial reserves and prepare for a momentous life change.

And what is that momentous life change? Well, we’d like to welcome baby boy number two to the homestead! We can’t wait to see what kinds of adventures he joins us on!
