Although the flowers aren’t quite blooming around New Meadows just yet, preparations for Spring activities are well underway with tea parties, the library bake sale, Easter egg hunts, and baseball all on the calendar.

The library’s Spring Bake Sale runs from April 1 - 30 and all proceeds benefit the library. Treat makers and buyers are needed. Other library events include book club on April 2 and story time on April 9.

On April 3 Family Swim Night hosted by Youth Advocacy Coalition takes place at Zim’s from 5-8:00 p.m. and History Night at The Depot takes place with a talk on The Mesa Orchards Company by Dale Fisk at 7:00 p.m..

The Meadows Valley Community Center is hosting their monthly Potluck & BINGO on April 9 at 5:00 p.m. MVCC will also be the location of an Afternoon Tea Party on April 12 at 2:00 p.m. Guests are encouraged to wear their favorite hats and events include a fashion show featuring items from the thrift store. Tickets are $6 for kids 6-14 and $12 for 15 and older.

The Meadows Valley High School Science Field trip is hosting a fundraiser at MeadowCreek Clubhouse on April 11 starting at 5:00 p.m. Events include dinner catered by The Intersection, Silent Auction and Trivia. Tickets are available before April 9 for $20 or at the door for $25. Contact the school or Stepheny at MeadowCreek for tickets. The students will be visiting Zion, Bryce Canyon, and Great Basin National Parks.

Join Parks & Rec and New Meadows volunteers on April 12 from 9-11:00 a.m. at The Depot for an Egg Stuffing Party in preparation for the annual Easter Egg Hunt. More candy is welcome. Donations of candy, plastic fillable eggs, filled Easter Baskets, and toys and books for prizes can be dropped off at City Hall. The school is gathering candy by way of an elementary contest which goes from March 31 to April 11. Preschool through 5th grade will participate and the class with the most candy collected will win a pizza party. All candy should be wrapped and small enough to fit in a plastic Easter egg.

The annual New Meadows Easter Egg Hunt takes place April 19 at 11:00 a.m. at the school and kids ages 1-12 can hunt. Volunteers are welcome to set out eggs at 10:00 a.m..

An Easter Egg Hunt will also take place on Easter morning, April 20, at MeadowCreek Clubhouse at 11:30 a.m. with brunch beforehand.

Meadows Valley Parks & Rec is looking for committee volunteers and coaches for TBall and Baseball. Kids ages 4-10 looking to play can be signed up at City Hall by April 30. Sign ups will also take place at the city Easter egg hunt. A discount is offered for those registering by April 19.

Go have some fun in New Meadows this Spring!
