Children listen to giraffe stories at Meadows Valley Public Library.

Meadows Valley Public Library is still having Storytime every second Wednesday of each month. On December 13th it was Snowman Storytime. The reader, Marlene Clark, dressed as a snowman and even brought a blow-up snowman to sit beside her while she read two appropriately themed stories. The books she read were How to Catch a Snowman by Adam Wallace and Sneezy the Snowman by Maureen Wright. The kids then enjoyed some snowball cotton candy and made a couple snowman crafts.

In January, the theme was Tallest Animal. Marlene, of course, being dressed as a giraffe, read Giraffes Can’t Dance by Giles Andreae and Giraffe Problems by Jory John. The craft that day was giraffe puppets and bookmarks with cupcakes for a treat.

The library provides the books, crafts and treats for storytime, but is so thankful for fun-spirited Marlene. She volunteers her time and provides all her costumes and props. Plus, the kids love her! Thank you, Marlene!
