Third Generation Keeps Midvale Pool Going Strong
Over 50 years ago a group of Midvale parents decided to build a community pool. That non-profit is still operating today and serving the Upper Country not only with pool activities but also with community entertainment at fund-raising events. A look at the current list of board members reveals that it is the third generation that is keeping the pride of Midvale operating without any tax funding. They learned the business from their parents and grandparents.
Leading the board is President Bryan Steed, Vice President Chelsea Doggett, Secretary Laci Steed, Treasurer Karly Jakich, Pool Manager Jessica Mikek and Assist. Pool Manager Christy Graham.
Karly Jakich reports that total fundraising receipts totaled $19,960 for the upcoming 2026 season. This year total operating expenses came in at $15,430 which covered chemicals, insurance, permits, lifeguard training/wages/swimming lessons, gas, water, power and taxes.
She says, “Because of your donations to our 501(c)(3), we are able to keep the Midvale Swimming Pool running! Your support means the world to us, the community and our kids!”
