The Council Thrifty Shoppe held their Christmas Sale this past Wednesday. When I showed up a few minutes before opening to take pictures there were about 35-40 people waiting outside for the sale to start.

The Shoppe was filled with donated Christmas decor from lights to trees to nativity scenes.

Roy Grossen reported that the Shoppe broke their single day sales record selling over $2,000 for the day.

According to the large poster hanging in the front window, the Thrifty Shoppe awarded $74,900 in 2025 in grants and scholarships. These went to groups like the Council Chamber of Commerce, the Council Elementary Library, local fire departments and students in school. The full list is on the poster at the Shoppe.

Donations can be dropped on the back porch anytime.
