What’s Happening in Meadows Valley?
With Spring far upon us and school out for Summer break, let’s take a look at what is coming up around Meadows Valley. Here in our beautiful valley, outdoor recreation opportunities are easy to find. Below are some organized activities you may be interested in.
Tuesday, June 24 Dale Fisk will be back for History Night at The Depot discussing the fruit industry at 7:00 p.m..
The Meadows Valley Farmer’s Market kicks off their season Saturday, June 28 at the City Park. Look for fresh produce, artisan crafts, and even some fun for the kids. The Market is held every Saturday through September 13 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Some vendors will once again be accepting SNAP and EBT.
For those looking to shop, don’t forget about the Community Thrift House located at the corner of Taylor and Miller Streets near the school. They are open Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and have weekly deals.
The Garden Center at C&M still has many plants available for purchase and the new Roberts Greenhouse is open on the weekends.
The Meadows Valley Community Center is a happening place. They have a Father’s Day Dance planned for Thursday, June 12 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Tickets are $5 each and children 10 and under are free. The event will include dancing, music, and appetizers. Each Wednesday of the month is Potluck and BINGO beginning at 5:00 p.m. The Center also has scheduled a yard sale for Saturday, June 28 from 9:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. and they are seeking donations. In July, an Ice Cream Social is scheduled at the community center for July 16.
Events, fun, and a place to cool off can all be found at the Meadows Valley Library Monday through Saturday. Storytime and activities for kids take place from 1-2:00 p.m. on Wednesdays.
The Youth Advocacy Coalition (YAC) will have outdoor Thursday programs for kids throughout the summer from 11:00 a.m.-12:00 noon at the City Park or the school blacktop area.
If you are looking for a community service opportunity, the New Meadows Parks & Rec Committee is still looking for additional members.
Saturday, July 5 is the Meadows Valley Fire SAVES the Day fundraiser. Find a Firefighter or EMT to purchase tickets.
