Steve Steward was recently diagnosed with Stage 4 Colon Cancer and a benefit was recently held by the community to support him as he goes through treatment. Steve is a long time member of the community, logger and an ‘all around good guy’ according to Jim Hileman.
Jim Hileman and Julie Roberts helped organize the event but Jim was quick to point out that this was a community effort and wanted to express thanks to everyone who donated and who helped out. Jim estimates that about 200 people showed up for the evening and they were able to raise about three times what they thought they would for Steve and his family.
