Two important things are happening on Sunday, June 21st. It’s Father’s Day, and it’s the first day of Summer (Astrological), the Summer Solstice. It’s the one day that daylight hours are longer than the nighttime hours. Each day from here on out, the days will imperceptibly become shorter until the Winter Solstice in December.
Happy belated Father’s Day to all you dads out there. I should have wished you this in last week’s newspaper. So when you were reading, it would have been before the event, not after. Oh well, “Better late than never!”
We have almost raised enough money to meet the matching funds for our grant. I would like to thank those of you who donated so generously to help us out. I’m in awe of the community support we have received to date. Thank you. We are blessed by your generosity.
