I hear we are in for some rainy, cold weather this weekend. Because of that, I’m writing my column on Friday, October 24th. Nothing is better than staying home on bad weather days if you can. You can wrap up in extra blankets, nap, read a good book, or binge-watch your favorite shows. That’s my plan for this weekend anyway.
I spoke to Brad Talbut this morning. If you live in Cambridge or Midvale and haven’t been able to get through on the phone, he said that there were five open appointments left at the Senior Center. You can call him on his direct line, (208) 334-4276. Leave him a message, and he will call you back. Brad said that with all the changes, things have been crazy down at the SHIBA Offices. So, if you want an appointment, do not delay calling him.
Our next Bingo game is on Thursday, November 6th, from 6 to 8:00 p.m. Everyone is welcome to come and play.
We continue to sell tickets for our Split the Pot fundraiser, which will end on Saturday, November 15th, during our Souper Supper fundraiser. The Fundraiser will feature Homemade soups from our fabulous cooks here at seniors, along with homemade breads. The cost is $10 per person, including a beverage and dessert. I hope you can find some time to join us that evening for delicious food and good company, and to find out who wins half of the Pot!
On Sunday, November 2, we will return to regular time as Daylight saving time ends. I, for one, am happy to bid farewell to Daylight saving time.
Menu: Friday, October 31st: Tomato Soup, grilled Cheese Sandwiches, green Salad, Mandarin Oranges, and dessert. Wednesday, November 5th: Roast Pork with BBQ sauce, Macaroni Salad, Wheat Roll, Baked Beans, Applesauce, and Magic Cookies. Friday, November 7th: Chili con Carne, Corn Bread, Salad, Pears, and dessert.
Have a great week, everyone!
