The Cambridge FFA Chapter has had an active fall with members involved in Leadership and Career Development events, chapter activities, community service, concession and success at the national level.

September:

Members kicked off returning to school with their annual “Pool Party” and fall alumni meeting at a BBQ held at the Frontier Motel. Over 100 joined the evening activities, getting a report from members on spring and summer activities, as well as an outline for plans for the upcoming school year.

District Soils was held on September 25th in Homedale. Team members were: Jack Papineau, Ridge Loveland, Eric Loveland, Easton Hastie and Charlee Noah. Jack was 2nd high individual. The team placed first and went on to compete in the State event in Burley on October 9th.

During the week of homecoming the chapter hosted a BBQ on Wednesday during all the Spirit Day activities. Members BBQ-ed and served lunch to grades 6-12, faculty and staff, community members, as well as law enforcement officers.

October:

October kicked off with the 8th graders attending District Dairy judging in New Plymouth, hosted by the Tuenisson Dairy. This is the 21st year that Tuenisson has hosted the 100+ members for the event. Team members were: Porter Loveland, Briggs Papineau, Luke Loveland, Bentley French and Alexa Ferguson.

Team members: Bridger Miller, Kellan Moura, MacKee Nichols and Madalyn Reynolds competed in the State Range evaluation event in Marsing, on October 7th.

On October 11th, the Cambridge FFA Alumni held their Alumni Dinner in Auction. Welcoming parents and supporters to a dinner that was catered by: Patrick Nauman from Weiser Classic Candy. The evening was filled with games and activities, including a silent and live auction. Funds generated at this event are used to support agricultural education programs at Cambridge High School, and assist members with funds for travel expenses to State and National events. Thank you to the continued support of our alumni chapter.

The last week of October was also the National Convention held in Indianapolis, IN.. Ms. Reese traveled with Quinn Hoskins and Madalyn Reynolds to receive the chapter’s Gold 3-Star National Chapter award. This award is received for activities the chapter completes in the three core areas of Growing Leaders, Building Communities, and Strengthening Agriculture, focusing on the FFA missions statement and our chapter’s Program of Activities across 15 quality standards.

November:

November started with 27 members participating in our annual “Soundtrack to our Futures” College and Industry Tours. Monday morning, members visited the new College of Agriculture program at the College of Western Idaho. The facility is beautiful, and members loved learning about this new opportunity in the valley. We also visited other Career and Technical programs at CWI, including: small engines, welding, and diesel mechanics. Following the college tour, members toured Edwards Nursery in Boise. Tuesday morning started with members visiting JUMP (JR’s Urban Meeting Place) to learn about the opportunities there for community members, and then touring Simplot Companies’ World Headquarters. The day concluded with a tour of Western Trailers Manufacturing. Thank you to our alumni for sponsoring this event for our members.

November 11th, officers and members planned and hosted our school and community Veterans Day program. We love the opportunity to pay tribute to the men and women, as well as their families, for their time and dedication to the freedoms that we enjoy today.

On November 18, our chapter welcomed ten new Greenhand members to our chapter at our Chapter Greenhand Initiation and Creed speaking evening. Our new greenhands are: Hayven Browning, Asher Chandler, Kolton Goslin, Mary Lancaster, Izaak McCallister, Kellan Moura, John Overacker, Will Reynolds, Jason Starbird, and Macki Winkles. Each of the members recited the FFA Creed and was presented with the Bronze emblem of the Greenhand FFA Degree. Kellan Moura was 1st place in the Creed Speaking. In addition to these events, the officers also hosted a “Family CDE night”. Officers set up mini CDE’s in the areas of poultry, food science, milk quality, livestock evaluation, parliamentary procedure, ag mechanics, and environmental science. Those attending took quizzes, ID-ed plants and tools, sampled cheese and milk, participated in triangle tests for food science, and identified scents, judged classes of heifers, pigs, and sheep. This was a fun way to educate our parents at the CDE’s that we compete in.

December:

December has already been a packed month. December 3rd, the Greenhand members traveled to Fruitland to compete in the Best Informed Greenhand test. Team members were: Hayven Browning, Asher Chandler, Will Reynolds, and Jason Starbird. Kellan Moura also competed in the Western Idaho Creed Speaking event.

The floral shop and FFA members hosted our annual “Circle of Love” wreath-making class on December 5th & 6th, with four 2-hour sessions. Community members learn how to make wreaths to take home to celebrate the holiday season. Thank you to the 58 participants of this event, and to the others who have called and ordered wreaths to be made for them!

We wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! We are excited for 2026 and all of the activities that it will hold for our chapter!
