On 4-1-24 there was a camper parked on forest service road #1396 on the east side of Meadows valley apparently it was deserted as it was vandalized shortly thereafter and now it’s worthless why is it still there? I was under the impression that the forest service was supposed to keep the forest clean, I am certain that if a letter accidentally fell out my car I would be ticketed, or at least get a lecture. Yet this camper has been there for over a year.
I ask a forest service law enforcement officer why this was still there and they stated the forest service had no money for the removal.
I see in the 6-25-25 of the Record, where the forest service sold the 1,001 trees that were cut along Highway 95 last spring for safety which they said belong to them, maybe this money could be used to remove said camper, or will it continue to be a eye sore for the locals.
