Dear readers,
In over four years of owning The Record Reporter we feel it is finally time to raise the cost of local subscriptions. Effective September 1, 2026 the new rates for our local subscription are $55 for one year and $99 for two years. Out of area subscriptions will go to $65 for one year and $119 for two years.
We’ve held off on increasing these rates as long as we could. Like so many things in recent years, the costs behind every issue you receive have climbed steadily. Postage rates have risen sharply - over 65% since 2022. Printing costs — paper, ink, press time — have followed suit. And inflation has touched nearly every part of how we operate. We absorbed these increases quietly for as long as we were able, but continuing to do so is no longer sustainable.
In recent years we have also increased the value of your subscription. All subscribers now have free access to our website at www.therecordreporter.com. Cost of a digital subscription is not increasing with this change.
We also work hard to improve the quality and quantity of our reporting. We aren’t able to cover everything that we would like, but this increase will allow us to bring you more local reporting.
If you have questions or concerns about this increase, you can give us a call at (208) 253-6961 or email publisher@therecordreporter.com.
If you would like to renew early before September 1 and get the current pricing, call us at the number above.
Thank you.
