Correction: We transcribed and reported the results of the Jack and Jill event at the Council Loggers Jubilee over the 4th holiday incorrectly. The correct team members for the second place finish are Cody Shelton, Trina Jokela and TJ Demery.

When the Council Loggers Jubilee Board formed, it was with community in mind. Not only did they want to serve Council by honoring the traditions in the much-beloved 4th of July saw contest, but they wanted to use the event to bring the community together. One of the ways that they chose to do that was by offering youth scholarships to those who are interested in a career in a trade and community scholarships to local entities involved in enriching the Council community.

This year, the Council Loggers Jubilee is proud to award community scholarships to the Council Senior Center and the Adams County Fair Board. Both of these organizations work tremendously hard and provide invaluable programs for members of this community. The Senior Center plans to use the funds to support their Home Delivered Meal program. This program is a lifeline for the elderly community members who are unable to regularly access nutritious meals. The Fair Board has been working on improving the fairgrounds and hopes to use their scholarship funds toward a sprinkler system to maintain grassy areas for fair-goers to enjoy.

The Council Loggers Jubilee Board would once again like to thank all sponsors, donors, participants, bidders, and buyers who helped raise the funds for these scholarships. If you are interested in learning more about the scholarship program or you would like to apply next year, please visit councilloggersjubilee.com/ for further information.
