Pray for Our Community
In our congregation each week we pray for our community. We ask God to bless, to repair, to hold steady this little town and make it a place of safety and joy. It is important to care about the place in which we live. If the place we live prospers or is healthy, so will we!
The prophet Jeremiah spoke for God when the children of Israel were carried off into exile for a time. In Jeremiah 29:1-7 God wants the children to understand the benefit of making the best of a difficult situation. Even in this difficulty, God would be with them.
Not only do we pray for the community, we also pray for all the Pastors in town declaring God’s truth to the people. We ask God to give preachers boldness, truth, inspiration and creativity. We pray this way so that the people who live here would be inspired with truth and be bold with creativity infused into their daily lives; so that they may be light and salt to the city. Light and salt improve life. Light makes things clear, salt improves the flavor of whatever it is added to and helps preserve.
May we be a people who truly care, who keep people at the forefront of the mind, and pray to our Father in Heaven for blessing.
