Public Meeting For Grant March 4; Bingo March 5

Janice Cawyer
February 25, 2026

Things are finally starting to settle down a bit for me, as most of what I had to contribute for the grant process has been submitted. I’m still collecting letters of support to turn in, so if you’ve been procrastinating on writing yours, there is still time to get them to me.

The Public Meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, March 4th, at 7:00 p.m. at City Hall. They will also be taking public comments there. I will be there representing the Senior Center along with most of our Board of Directors. It’s a public meeting, and if you would like to add your two cents to the process, you are welcome to attend.

Looking forward to March, our monthly Bingo game will be held on Thursday evening March, 5th, from 6 to 8:00 p.m. We provide light refreshments, and participants report having a great time. Come join us, everyone is welcome!

Our March fundraiser will be a Pi Sale on Saturday, March 14th, PI Day, from 3:14 to 6:14 p.m. You can order whole Pies for just $15 each, or you can buy them by the slice for $3.14 each. All our pies will be homemade by our members and volunteers. Pies that can be ordered are Apple, Cheesecake (with or without a topping), Cherry, Chocolate cream, Lemon Meringue, or Pumpkin. Orders need to be in by March 9, 2026. Call (208) 257-3358 to order your pie, or you can pick up an order form at the senior center and turn it in. Whole Pies can be picked up on March 14 from 3:14 to 6:14 pm

If you just want a piece of pie, come in and buy one for $3.14. Coffee or Tea will be provided. We are also having a Pi Walk as a fun activity for kids and adults alike. More information on that in my next column.

Menu for the week: Wednesday, February 25th: Oven-fried Chicken, Mashed Potatoes and Gravy, coleslaw, Mixed Fruit Roll, Corn and Oatmeal Cake. Friday, February 27th: Tomato soup, Grilled Cheese, Mixed Fruit, Green Salad, and Dessert. Wednesday, March 4th: Baked Ham, Scalloped Potatoes, Mixed Vegetables, Rolls, Mandarin Oranges, Garden Salad, and No-Bake Cookies.

Have a great week, everyone!
