I would like to extend a huge thank you from the bottom of my heart for all of the assistance with the fire on Mesa Hill July 9th. We stopped the fire at about 350 acres and had resources from Weiser to New Meadows including two engines from the Payette National Forest, Council Valley Ambulance, as well as a number of private water tenders. A special thank you to everyone that brought dozers, they were the key to a successful day. I’m proud to serve a community that pulls together when the chips are down, there are dozens of you that supported the crews with water, food and snacks these things don’t go unnoticed. I didn’t get a chance to thank all of you personally, but know each and every one of you is greatly appreciated. We had no injuries and no structures were lost, with the exception of three small outbuildings. This is only the beginning of what may be a long destructive fire season, please be careful with fire and don’t forget to thank the firefighters you know.
