This week I want to talk about the good. We all want to hear the good first.
Prophecy: The spoken or written word of God. To foretell of things to come. A promise of God. With a world of lies and deception, we need truth. Some may not like what the Word of God says, but it is still truth.
Isaiah 2:1-4 says, “This is a vision that Isaiah son of Amoz saw concerning Judah and Jerusalem: In the last days, the mountain of the Lord’s house will be the highest of all - the most important place on earth. It will be raised above the other hills, and people from all over the world will stream there to worship. People from many nations will come and say, “Come, let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, to the house of Jacob’s God. There He will teach us His ways, and we will walk in His paths.” For the Lord’s teaching will go out from Zion; His word will go out from Jerusalem. The Lord will mediate between nations and will settle international disputes. They will hammer their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning hooks. Nation will no longer fight against nation, nor train for war anymore.” This man, Isaiah, was given a prophetic vision, a dream to see the future. If you knew the future of the value of gold and it was going to increase drastically, and it was a promise given to you, most of us would go out and buy gold, a lot of gold.
God has given us a promise of what the future will be and it is His promise to us. God tells us what the future is going to hold for us and it is a promise. And He tells us because He wants us to be ready for it.
In Isaiah 2:1, “In the last days, the mountain of the Lord’s house will be the highest of all - the most important place on earth.” Look at the news right now, Israel is in the news constantly, the whole world has their eyes on Israel.
The mountain and the house referred to in Isaiah 2 is the spiritual kingdom of God. In Revelation 21 John sees a vision and describes the future he sees in his vision. The eternal dwelling place of God and His people, the holy city, the new Jerusalem and a future promise. Verse 4 of Revelation 21 says “He will wipe every tear from their eyes, and there will be no more death or sorrow or crying or pain. All these things are gone forever.”
The Good News, if you believe Jesus Christ is the only Son of God, that He died on the cross to take away your sins, and rose to life again, and now sits in Heaven at the Father’s side, and you have asked Him into your heart, this is your future!
